The Project

The Project “LIFE 07 ENV/IT/000474 ARIEL" (Advanced Recycling Implementations to Elide Landfilling) is partially funded thanks to the LIFE+ Plan contributon. LIFE+ is the main European financial tool for environment which have been coming into force within the new CE n°614/2007 Settlement of the European Parliament and Committee, 23 of May 2007, published within the GUUE, L 149 Serie of 9th of June 2009.

LIFE+ follows the previous LIFE planning, which has co-funded since 1992 more than 2700 effective projects and has been sustained with around 1,35 bilions € of initiatives addressed to environmental protection.

LIFE+ mainly aims at contributing to the accomplishment, updating, and development of Communitarian policies and laws in terms of Environment, including the environmental integration within other policies addressed to the sustainable progress. LIFE+ particularly promotes the Sixth European Board Program implementation in terms of Environmental actions (Dec. n.1600/2002/CE), including the thematic strategies and funding value-added measures and projects in partners countries.

LIFE+ is mainly composed by three lines of action: “LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity”, “LIFE+ Environmental policies and Governance” and “LIFE+ Information and Communication”.

ARIEL is comprehended under the “LIFE+ Environmental policies and Governance” with the specific objective of natural sources and rubbish, mainly aiming at: developing and accomplishing those policies addressed to guarantee a sustainable management and use of garbage and natural sources, improving the environmental impact level of every projects thanks to sustainable productions and consumptions, contributing to an effective implementation of a thematic strategy about garbage recycling and general prevention.
